Welcome to our page!
We are the Stewards of Creation, striving to follow in the footsteps of St Francis.
He believed that humans are caretakers of the Earth, not its owners. His deep respect for nature, simple lifestyle, and love for all living creatures inspire our commitment to modern environmental values such as sustainability, biodiversity protection, and ecological responsibility. Together, we work to care for our common home and protect the beauty of creation for future generations.
Our representatives for this academic year are:
Jessica (KS2 Chair)
Valentine (KS2 Vice Chair)
Ella (Year 5)
James (Year 4)
Oran (Year 3)
Connie (KS1 Chair)

Energy Monitors
As our first project this year, we introduced the role of “Energy Monitors” in each classroom. Every week, one student is chosen to take responsibility for ensuring that lights and other energy sources are switched off when they are not in use. This initiative encourages responsibility, promotes energy conservation, and helps our school reduce its environmental footprint.

Bird Feeders
As part of our work to support local wildlife, we made our own bird feeders to place around the school grounds. We used recycled materials, such as plastic bottles, to create them. We regularly check the feeders to make sure they are refilled when the bird food is running low.

Tub2Pub Campaign in support of Mcmillan Cancer Support
To support Greene King and raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, we organised a collection of empty confectionery tubs and biscuit tins as part of the Tub2Pub campaign. We encouraged everyone to bring in clean, empty plastic tubs from home so they could be recycled instead of thrown away. After finishing our collection, we arranged for the tubs to be delivered to our nearest Greene King pub. The plastics were then sent to a reprocessing centre to be recycled, and the money raised from the recycled materials was donated directly to Macmillan Cancer Support.

World Book Day Fancy Dress Costume Swap
We organised a Fancy Dress Swap the week before World Book Day. This was a wonderful opportunity to reuse and recycle costumes while helping others get ready for the celebration.
Families were invited to donate costumes by bringing them into school. After school on Friday, they were then able to choose a new costume at the swap.

The Great Big School Clean
We will be taking part in the Great British Spring Clean and the Great Big School Clean. During this time, we will be organising lunchtime litter picks giving everyone the chance to help clean up our school grounds. We are also organising a local litter alongside Mini Vinnies.
